When AI answers your customer, three companies get named.

A homeowner in Chantilly with a dead air conditioner used to get ten blue links. Now they get one answer that names two or three companies and ignores everyone else.

Most owners have not noticed yet. Almost none can find out where they stand. I can tell you in about a day, for free.

What actually changed

The short version, without the jargon.

The list became an answer

Search used to hand your customer a page of options and let them choose. Now it hands them a recommendation. The page of options is still down there, but a growing share of people never scroll to it.

Ranking sixth used to be fine. Now it is invisible.

Position six on page one still got calls. Position six in a generated answer does not exist, because the answer stopped at three.

Nobody is watching this for you

Your rankings report does not measure it. Your ad dashboard does not measure it. If a competitor started getting named instead of you six months ago, nothing in your current reporting would have told you.

The question is no longer whether you rank. It is whether you get named.

Start with the report

It is free, and it is the whole pitch.

I ask the AI answer engines the questions your customers actually ask — in their words, not marketing words. "My AC stopped working, I'm in Chantilly, who should I call right now?" Then I record every business named in the answer and where they landed.

You get a one-page report showing which questions you were named in, which you were not, and exactly which competitors got named in your place. Every finding traces back to a real answer I saved, so you can check my work.

Most owners find the competitor list to be the part that stings. That is the point — it is either a problem worth fixing or it is not, and you should be able to tell within thirty seconds of looking at it.

What the report looks like

An illustrative example. Yours uses your real business and the actual answers I record.

Sample HVAC Co.
Chantilly, VA · 6 questions tested · point-in-time snapshot

"My AC stopped working in Chantilly, who should I call right now?"
Not named
Named instead: Competitor A, Competitor B, Competitor C
"Best HVAC company near Chantilly, VA for a system replacement"
Named — 2nd of 3
Also named: Competitor A, Competitor D
"Who does emergency furnace repair in Fairfax County?"

"Trustworthy AC maintenance in Chantilly with good reviews"

The competitor column is usually the part that stings — and the point. Within thirty seconds you can tell whether this is a problem worth fixing.

Get mine for my business

What I do after that

Only if the report shows something worth fixing.

Foundation $600 / month

Website hosting, updates, backups and uptime. Ongoing visibility monitoring across the answer engines. One clear report a month.

Core $1,200 / month

Everything in Foundation, plus the actual work of getting named: structured data, consistent business information everywhere it appears, content built to be quoted rather than skimmed, Google Business Profile management, and review generation.

Growth $2,400 / month

Everything in Core, plus Google and Meta ads managed properly. Capped at $10,000 monthly ad spend. Available to clients already on Core.

Setup, $1,500 one time. Structured data, cleanup of your business information across the directories that feed the engines, Google Business Profile rebuild, and citation audit. This happens before any monthly work starts, because the monthly work does not stick without it.

Website rebuild, $3,000–$4,500 when the site is the problem.

Flat fees, always. I do not charge a percentage of your ad spend. That arrangement pays me more when you spend more, which is not the incentive you want in the person managing your budget.

Who this is for

And who it is not for.

A good fit: owner-operated home services companies in Fairfax and Loudoun County — HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofing, remodeling — roughly 5 to 40 employees, already spending money on marketing and not certain what it is doing.

Not a fit: ecommerce, national brands, franchisees whose marketing is controlled by corporate, anyone whose main channel is Instagram, and anyone looking for social media management. I do not sell it, because I would not do it well at a price either of us would like.

Who you would be working with

My name is Neil Raives. The firm has my name on it because there is nobody else here to blame, and that is the point.

I have spent fifteen years in performance media, currently managing eight-figure annual paid media budgets for a national brand — paid search, programmatic, paid social and metasearch. This is that same discipline, applied to businesses twenty minutes from my house.

I run this deliberately small. Two new clients a month, which means the person who audits your business is the person who does the work and the person who answers when you call. There is no account manager between us, because there is no one else here.

You are not paying me for structured data markup. You are paying me to tell you the truth about your marketing.

Questions owners actually ask

Is this just SEO with a new name?

There is overlap, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling you something. Plenty of what makes you visible in a generated answer also helps you rank normally. The difference is what gets measured and what gets prioritized. Traditional SEO optimizes to be one of ten links. This optimizes to be one of three names, which changes what you work on and in what order.

How do I know whether it worked?

I set your visibility score in week one, before anything changes, and report it every month whether it moved up, down or not at all. I will also tell you plainly that this measurement is newer and noisier than click data. That is why I bundle it with website and ads work, where the attribution is real and the numbers are not open to interpretation.

How much does AI visibility work cost in Northern Virginia?

My retainers run $600 to $2,400 a month depending on scope, plus a one-time $1,500 setup. Website rebuilds run $3,000 to $4,500. Those are flat fees, published here, and they do not change based on what I think you can afford.

Do I have to sign a long contract?

Foundation is month to month. Core and Growth run twelve months with a ninety-day exit, because the work takes a couple of months to show anything and I would rather you leave than sit in something that is not working.

Why should I use you instead of a bigger agency?

If you want a team, campaign volume and a brand you can point to, hire the bigger agency — that is a real answer and sometimes the right one. Hire me if you would rather have one experienced person who lives twenty minutes away, knows your market, picks up the phone, and will tell you when something is not worth doing.

What areas do you serve?

Fairfax County and Loudoun County, Virginia — Chantilly, Herndon, Reston, Fairfax, Centreville, Sterling and Ashburn, plus the surrounding Northern Virginia area.
